Craig graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Royal Veterinary College in 2016 having also completed a degree in Bioveterinary Science. Following a year in equine ambulatory practice he commenced a residency programme in Large Animal Surgery at the University of Bristol. During this time and shortly afterwards he published scientific papers on equine shockwave therapy, hoof neoplasia, mandibular disease, fracture imaging and management, and the effects of limb nerve blocks.
Following his residency he undertook a position as an equine surgeon at Rainbow Equine Hospital in Yorkshire for two years before moving to Dubai Equine Hospital in the United Arab Emirates. The latter post involving the management, surgery and care of racing Thoroughbreds and endurance Arab breeds; which allowed him to develop an interest in the surgical management of fracture repair, colic surgery, upper airway surgery and eye surgery.
In 2023, through examination, he became a Diplomat of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS) and subsequently a EBVS and RCVS recognised Specialist in Large Animal Surgery.
Craig joined Buckingham Equine Vets in 2026 to support and develop the orthopaedic and surgery caseload.
Outside of work he has a keen interest in golfing and endurance road cycling though time for these pursuits are limited while he supports his wife Nikki with their beautiful but lively baby daughter.
