Andrew graduated from Liverpool University in 2003 with a Veterinary Science degree, having already obtained an Agricultural Science degree from Edinburgh University. Immediately after graduation he spent 3 months with the animal charity SPANA in Morocco working with donkeys, mules, and horses. This was followed by 5½ years at a mixed practice near Lichfield in Staffordshire pursuing an interest in equine clinical care, and in 2007 he gained the prestigious RCVS Certificate in Equine Practice. After a year locuming in UK equine practices, and a stud season in New Zealand, he arrived in Buckingham. After two years at the Practice Andrew became co-director of Buckingham Equine Vets in 2011.
In 2015 Andrew was recognised for his higher training in the equine field by being awarded the status of ‘Advanced Veterinary Practitioner in Equine Practice’ by the Royal College of Veteriary Surgeons. In 2018 he completed the Master level qualification in Veterinary Business Management and in 2019 he was awarded the RCVS Certificate in Advance Veterinary Practice.
Andrew’s professional interests are in equine lameness investigation and reproduction.
When not working Andrew is a keen athlete and enjoys keeping fit. He’s completed marathons, long distance cycling races and Ironman triathlons. He has represented Great Britain in the national age-group triathlon team on several occasions and previously been the World Medical Triathlon Champion.
Andrew and his wife Helen have two young children.
