The vets at Buckingham Equine Vets have looked after our horses for more years than I would like to admit, from pointers, hunters, children’s ponies and now to eventers. Whenever our horses have a problem the vets are quickly available, helpful, always at the end of the phone and generous with their advice. They have also vetted my horses prior to purchase, steering me away from potential disasters!

Izzy, my 19 year old mare, had an accident in October 2012. She sliced a 6 inch piece of skin off her lower back leg, narrowly missing tendons. I managed to get her boxed down to Buckingham Equine Vets, where Philip Ivens took over. It was all very upsetting at the time, but with his constant care and the help of his team, after 3 weeks she was able to come home to the care of my own vet and months of box rest. Philip kept in constant touch with me and also my vet Abby from Staverton Vets and between them Izzy got back to full fitness with just a small bald patch on her leg. I can’t thank them enough for the medical support and emotional support that I was given and the brilliant care they took of Izzy.

Thank you to everyone at Buckingham Equine Vets for looking after our elderly horses, Bali and Rio for many years. Sadly, we had to have them put to sleep last month. Andrew was wonderful, doing everything with the utmost sensitivity and the minimum of suffering. It was a great comfort to us that it was so quick and calm. We would have no hesitation in recommending all of them for their attentive care and excellent facilities. Thanks too to Debbie for her constant deliveries to us, often at short notice.

It's so important to have total confidence in your vet which I have with you. Both my horses have had issues which have been sorted out brilliantly by Andy, particularly my laminitic pony who now has a new lease of life following x-rays and shoeing advice. Thank you so much.

You really do need a specialist equine vet to treat horses and ponies, and The Buckingham Equine Team are knowledgeable, approachable and caring. I wouldn’t use anyone else.
